Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is central to Julian Church & Associates (JCA) together with our reputation for integrity and best practice. We take responsibility for our actions and the importance of these actions on our local community, on the environment, consumers, employees, stakeholders and so on. It’s important to all of us.
JCA were awarded Certified status as a BCorp in 2022, this is to be part of the global movement for an inclusive, equitable, and regenerative economy.
B Corp Certification is a designation that a business is meeting high standards of verified performance, accountability, and transparency on factors from employee benefits and charitable giving to supply chain practices and input materials.
We are delighted to be entitled to use the BCorp logo on our communications as a demonstration that we care, that we are a business for good.

our Goals
We have made a declaration to plant a minimum of 5 trees per completed project where we have provided our services.
Typically the trees we plant are small saplings between 1ft – 2ft (30 – 60cm) tall, depending on the species of tree. We only plant UK native tree species such as Oak, Ash, Rowan, Hazel, Silver Birch, Scots Pine, etc. The trees are planted from November to March – when the trees are dormant.
This allows the trees to establish their roots and have a better chance of survival through their first dry, summer period. Our trees are generally planted at Knepp Wildland or Church Wood. Knepp is a 3,500 acre estate just south of Horsham, West Sussex.
Since 2001, the land – once intensively farmed – has been devoted to a pioneering rewilding project. Church Wood is mature broadleaf woodland located on the South Downs in East Sussex.
A variety of tree species are being planted along the edges of the woodland track to improve biodiversity and support wildlife.
Our goal is to plant a minimum of 600 trees before the end of 2025. If you would like to join us in planting trees as part of a project, then lets discuss and we promise to match your tree numbers like for like.

This is underpinned by our corporate responsibilities. We are committed to managing our business in an ethical and sustainable manner. It enables us to make a positive impact on our customers, our staff, our environment and the communities that we serve or work within.
We encourage and take a sense of responsibility. We believe in meeting the needs of our society but reducing the effects on the Earth’s ecological boundaries. We advocate for faster change in our industry towards regenerative project practices.
Buy Local: We have a commitment and are tied to this commitment through B Corp Registration, to purchase core products (at least 50% of our non-labour expenses) from independent suppliers local to where the product will be used or where our company operates.
In this respect in the 2020/21 financial year, we had over 70% of our non-labour related expenses purchased locally through local suppliers and companies (within 50 miles of the office).
We believe in caring for others and creating spaces where others feel safe and looked after.
We contribute to a number of charitable events and organisations throughout the year and we encourage our staff and those around us to give thought, time and effort to help those in less fortunate positions.

Welcome to the Annual Impact Report of Julian Church and Associates for 2025. We have been a Certified B Corporation for 3 years and this is a moment to reflect, measure and report on our progress.
We believe that our impact and legacy should be sustainable in terms of both the effect on the earth through materiality but also on people and communities through the economy and financial reach.
This report is intended to demonstrate our dedication to meeting verified social and environmental performance standards, public transparency and legal accountability.
