Who is Julian Church?

Julian Church is a husband, father, son, businessman & a Fulham fan.

Life, as Julian Church, is a mix from one week to the next.

It could be lots of office-based time, primarily at the moment, it’s lots of travel time, lots of face to face interaction and lots of discussions. Happily, it’s now back to seeing people, meeting people, greeting people and hopefully giving them the confidence to work with us, at Julian Church & Associates Ltd.

An average day for Julian Church would be measuring, managing, implementing, pushing water uphill sometimes and at other times, it’s enjoying the fruits of what the business has created.

We produce spaces like this.

Sam's Riverside- seating area looking into private dining room

We produce restaurants and hospitality arena’s within the UK & Europe.

We are currently sitting in Sam’s Riverside in Hammersmith, London.

This restaurant is something which we had the pleasure of managing and quantity surveying, just over two years ago.

It was built in the old Riverside Studios at Hammersmith when they were redeveloped in the early 2010s’.
It’s the brasserie anchor restaurant space for Riverside Studios, but it’s also a seven day a week venue with a capacity of about 80 or 90 covers. They have bar counter dining, a covered outside terrace and a private dining room for up to 18 people, with very good service at lunch and very good service at dinner.

We were recommended by the designer who we’ve worked with quite a few times before.
From that we built up a very good rapport with Sam and Fanny, who are the proprietors of the unit.
Quickly we started to deliver probably more than what they actually thought they were going to get.

We gave them confidence. We gave them reassurance and with that we developed into providing so much more in terms of service and delivery to the end, that they were absolutely delighted with the restaurant that we’ve ended up with.

The relationship now with Sam and Fanny is still very good, they’ve given us the facility to have a chat today in these beautiful surroundings.

filming day at Sam's Riverside

I’m actually seeing Fanny on Friday to look at their next project and move forward with that, which would be a repeat, in essence, of what we’ve done here on a different space up the road. We’re now a very much trusted party. We’ve proved ourselves on the first project here now, so much so that we are the first point of call for the second project and it’s down to us then to help develop that team and recommend that team and work through with Sam and Fanny every step of the way.

We’re very much essential to the decision making process in the format of how we go forward.
I look at this becoming a second project which would then go to hopefully, a third project moving forward, to ultimately, subject to the clients’ desires, a repeat rollout, which is similar to what we would have had with other clients previously.

For example, clients such as Gaucho, where we retained consultants on a lot of things that they’re doing at the moment. Also historically, if you look at Caffe Nero, we worked for them for many years in the UK and ultimately, that level of trust for us coming back in and actually helping them move to Sweden, doing ten units in Sweden, a couple of years ago, pre-pandemic. For Julian Church & Associates Ltd, we are proud to be able to retain the client relationships over many years and get to see these businesses develop & thrive.
